2020, The year of increased elevation!
It started well, getting some decent climbs in the last couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, changing the primary stressors on the gearing of the bike from general and sprint-based riding to dedicated climbing on a regular basis, that is, twice or three times each week, have highlighted something I should have expected.
The chain and cassette on my Zwift bike set up, had gotten settled into certain gear ratios.
Climbing for a couple of hours on each session have meant using some different cogs - different, less-worn, cogs, on a worn sprint-stressed chain have made for slippage.
That said, this Wahoo Kickr chain/cassette has not been replaced in just under four years.
Generally I'm pretty consistent with kind of maintenance, but...
So, it was back down to the London flats to finish of this session - hopefully I'll have the chain and cassette replaced ready to continue the 2020 elevation challenge.
Shame really, 'cos, reckon I was onto a new PR on Fox and Leith hills before the slipping gearing got out-of-hand.
Still, the initial Fox climb was the best I'd had in a few weeks.
