I seem to have been pushing the NYC southern sprint quite a lot recently, but that's OK - I love the NYC south sprint.
Hitting that climb right before the sprint without tanking-out requires some planning and energy pacing.
I do believe I'm starting to get a 'feel' for it.
Pace the climb with some 'gusto' but hold onto some of those watts for the timed section. The timed section is all downhill so if you held onto 20% available watts you're gonna do well - going down.
Remember, in the end, it's all about speed. Monitor your speed.
Build your speed on the pre-sprint climb to a high enough level - you're on your way to a PR or better
The ETA method won't work here, ETA will only come in on the descending timed section. You gotta do the work on the climb. Use your speed reference.
Thanks for watching, and as always Zwifters...
